Great experience, we built grain refrigerators since 1969
Company certified ISO 9001: 2015 by TÜV Rheinland
The cold air produced by the Conserfrio® chiller unit is introduced at the bottom of the silo. This air begins to cool the bottom layer of grain. The air pushes the heat to pass upwards through the mass of grain and escapes as warm exhaust air. As the cooling process develops, a cooling zone is formed and slowly moving up through the grain.
The cooling operation is completed as soon as the escaping air is cold. The same sequence occurs in case of flat storage warehouse or bin, hopper tank.
Grain is a bad heat transmitter, in other words, it is a good insulator material. The radiation of heat from the outside is of little influence, even if stored inside of steel silos or warehouse. For this reason, no insulation of walls is required.
Operation time depends on chiller capacity and grain volume inside of silo.
After reaching expected temperature and moisture, stop operation and cut off power. We will restart operation again after 2-5 months which depends on temperature and moisture inside of silo.
Re-cooling by chiller again will be faster and much shorter operation time which much lower electric consumption comparing to the first operation.
ADVANTAGES OF COOLING GRAIN
Avoid heat development.
Minimise insects.
Avoid mould and toxins.
Avoid weight loss.
Avoid water condensation.
Avoid clumping grain.
No more chemical treatments.
Avoid turning grain over.
Significantly lower operating costs compared to Aeration.
Save thousands of dollars in chemical treatments.
Minimize grain damage.
Quick payback – return investment in 1 -2 years.
Operation not depending on the weather.
Operation costs of Conserfrio®: 2.5-5kwh / metric ton and higher to tropical environment.
The savings due to the use of the Conserfrio® units can be resumed as no need of product over-drying.
The grain, even after harvested, still keeps on breathing and Cereals in store are community of living organisms. This breathing is a combustion chemical process where the grain converts its own mass into carbon dioxide and water, which in turn heats up and re-wets the grain, accelerating the product self-destruction. This non-reversible process of respiration increases at higher temperatures and moisture of the grain. By the proper use of refrigeration, the mentioned grain damaging process is minimized and kept under control.
The Conserfrio® units are special, compact, mobile grain chillers, delivered completely assembled and tested, ready for start-up, requiring only electric energy for operation. The units work automatically according to the settings of the operator, not needing special surveillance. Each unit has all necessary safety switches and conforms to all regulations that apply. The Conserfrio® units use the latest technology available, thus getting the highest cost-efficiency possible.
